Hi guys, it’s me, Anya, back with another book review. Today I am going to be reviewing the book “A Long Walk to Water,” which is based on a true story and written by Linda Sue Park.

A Long Walk to Water” book cover

I really like this book because not only is it based off of a true story, it was told to Mrs. Park by the main character himself ; Salva Dut. This is a very important aspect to the book because it shows us how the character actually felt and his point of view throughout the book.

Now, on to the story itself. The story is very inspiring because it shows that if you keep going throughout the hard times and believe in yourself, you will eventually reach the good times. The book talks about a war in Sudan and how Salva (the main character) has to flee his home and face all the hardships of being a refugee. I cannot even imagine how hard this would be and the book teaches me to be grateful that I have a home, a family, food, and water.

I recommend this book for people around the age of 10–11 because the Salva was also 11 when the war started and he had to flee his home. To all the children reading this book that are 10–11, think about what would happen if this happened to you right now. Salva lost almost everything during the war and everyone should be grateful for what they have, not what they want.

I rate this book a 10/10, it is amazing and you should definitely go buy it if you are interested based on this review. Here is the link to buy it from amazon : https://www.amazon.com/Long-Walk-Water-Based-Story/dp/0547577311/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=a+long+walk+to+water&qid=1621895034&sr=8-1
